This Is a Total Tumblr Post

"...People are always asking me why don’t I write protest songs, political
songs. Well, love is a serious business.”

The righteousness of that last stance seems a bit extreme; the number of pop songs that aren’t love songs is statistically insignificant.

The fact that it took me until now to post a comment is a sign that I need a new way to get my RSS feeds. But that's neither here nor there.

Obviously, songwriters should write what inspires them. Bad Religion is pretty light on love songs, and Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer shies away from sociopolitical issues. (I probably could've picked more popular bands for those examples, but I also like to stick with what I know.)
